This antique dowry gift was handmade using the suzani needlework technique on cotton fabric.
The colors are very beautiful and come from natural dyes.
It is intended to be hung on a wall for decorative purposes.
The original artist spent about one-to-two years to make this extremely intricate, detailed piece.
It was very well cared for and is in excellent shape considering it is over 100 years old.
This type of piece is a lost art, and needlework like this is not done anymore.
