This unique sculpted relief depicts a very famous scene of an Afghan man playing the dohol for the Afghan Milli Attan, the national dance.
During the Milli Attan, which is traditionally done on a national day, usually 10-15 men will dance to the sound of the dohal for approximately 5 minutes.
The piece was hand created in a workshop in Kabul by a master artist. Many semi-precious stones including lapis lazuli, marble, jade, and onyx were used to make this mosaic.
