Description:

This antique Pile Prayer Rug has been worn evenly, and the quality and construction of it has held up very well considering its age.

The knots are very tight and beautiful.

The rug contains symbols of multiplying, universal energy creation. These symbols have no beginning or end and represent the cyclical, never ending oscillations of energy.

The hands are meant to be placed on the diamond symbols in the corners while the head is placed on the larger diamond between them.

When the hands and head are placed on the rug, the one engaged in prayer is expressing that they are humble and insignificant relative to the creation of water, the sky, and the universe, and they are ready to help people and create beauty.

This rug was constructed Kilim edges that help retain the rug’s pile, even in the event that the edges begin to wear. This allows the rug to last much longer than a rug that was not constructed in this way.

The browns of the rug are made from real camel wool and have not been dyed. Camels are considered to humble and wise animals that help people through life.

The rug also contains colors of rich, deep blue of indigo that represents sky and water, and purple that represents spiritual energy.
