The statue is a replica of the horse and carriages that are commonly used for transportation in the city of Herat, Afghanistan.
The carriage has seats that face the front and the back, and a sunshade.
The horse is made from solid lapis lazuli sourced from the mines of Afghanistan, and the horse’s hooves are made from agate.
The metal parts are made from brass with some gold plating, and the wheels have rubber on them just like the real ones in Herat.
The steps on the carriage are made from marble sourced from the mines of Afghanistan. The horse and carriage are set on a solid piece of lapis lazuli that even has the road markers inlaid into it.
There is only one of these statues in the entire world.
It comes inside a clear case that measures 25.5” Length x 10.75” Width x 14” Height.
A real carriage of this kind is still being used and is common in Afghanistan as taxi and means of transportation.
